QUESTION..Runny bottom when out for walks?

When ever we walk back from Oliver's walk, he mostly has a runny bottom?
On the way out he fine and poo is normal.

We go and play.

On the way back he keep's having a little runny!(not alot)
So apart from his poo bag's, we have to always take kitchen towels or
baby wipes to clean him..
Oliver has the OES sensitive tummy, and it took a while to know what upset's and what dont..

We have always put it down to just pure excitment,
he has never failed to get excited the moment he see's his lead Very Happy
Our question is
"will he ever grow out of it?"
"is there something wrong?"
"anyone else have this problem?"
Other than the "runnies" on the way home,
oliver is happy and everything works fine..Even if he dont go out one day cos its raining(Oliver hates the rain),his poo is normal?
Any one shed any light Question

OES virgins Very Happy
In my experience:

"will he ever grow out of it?" No
"is there something wrong?" No
"anyone else have this problem?" Yes

We just had another post on this recently...very common...which I suppose you could look at as good news and bad news. Smile http://forum.oes.org/viewtopic.php?t=19488
Edgar has this problem. Anytime we go for a car ride, besides drooling non stop, he also gets a bad case of the excitement runs. This has never gotten better. For walks though it has. He has gotten to the point that most walks it's not runny. Sometimes (who knows why) it will be though. When we got Emma and went on walks it started a new case of runs. Last time we went it was a little firmer which was nice as it's rather hard to pick up splatters in gravel. I just chalk it up to Edgar having a nervous/happy pooer. Laughing
How old is Oliver? Rufus is nearly 9 months, his poo starts off solid in the mornings and by his afternoon walk it is runny, or the last poo on his walk is runny. I have no idea if this is normal, but he doesn't seem to have any pain. I think it's because he is young. I recommend sticking to only his food (ie no treats) for a few days and see if it's still the same. What food is he on?
Oliver is 3ys, going on 10 weeks,
We feed him bakers complete, not the liver & bacon as this one upsets,

Treats= only the hide type,
any others then its runny bottom time..
All other times Oliver is fine, it's just that walk home?

Perhaps i should just walk him out,
then we get a lift home Wink

Funny how they are all simular, even though we are all scattered across the world Confused Confused
Try laying off the hide for a while, just a suggestion because it makes Ru's poo even runnier Rolling Eyes
Simon, my basset is like that, as well. The more exercise and excitement thoughout the day, the runnier the poop gets.

BUT, bassets are easier to clean up back there!!!

Exercise actually stimulates the intestines to produce the waves (peristolysis) that move the food byproducts along the intestines. More exercise means the food byproducts move through faster and the large intestine doesn't have enough time to reabsorb most of the water in the byproducts.

Food byproducts that move through slower (medications or lack of exercise) actually have more liquid reabsorb and the stool becomes drier and harder.

(Bet you're sorry you didn't go with me to the conference last Saturday - 8 hours of puke and poop that they tried to pass off as Abdominal Issues in Pediatric Patients)
Oscar has a similar problem. We used to take a 2 mile walk every morning, and I noticed that the first stool would be solid, and then he would go a second time on the walk and it would get more and more loose.

I cut our walk to a mile, and we no longer have that problem.

Shocked You mean I have a good excuse not to walk my dog so much? Hooray! ClappingPurple
I am not sure if it calls for reducing the exercise. I usuually give them a bit of a break half way through a longer walk and that seems to help my boy who has the same issue.
