What does it mean when you see your neighbor in all of his glory?
You know what's funny, sort of....?
This morning I had to drive an hour and a half to drop Joan off at Bradley International airport, she's off to San Francisco for the week. Since my brother lives nearly directly on the way, I decided to stop by his house. Did I mention this was 6:45AM?
In all fairness to me, he always claims to be up and around walking his dog by 7. I figured I'd test the theory, so I stopped at his house. No sign of life. I take Mulligan out of the car and let him go pee, then I bring him back and give him his breakfast. Still no sign of life. I try his cell phone, but it's turned off.
I pick up a few pebbles and very gently toss them up to his second floor bedroom window so that they hit the widow, and then fall down on the window air conditioner. I know this will definitely attract my brother's attention, as he's had birds around that A/C before. Sure enough after a few "tick tick tick-tick-tick"s he bangs on the A/C, and after another 1 or two he looks out, sees me and motions for me to wait.
We decide to walk the dogs around the block together and when we're about halfway around I hear a noise coming from a house and look over. There is some movement in the breezeway connecting the house to the garage and it has those Jalousie louvered windows. I can't quite make out what I'm seeing so I look a little harder.
Before I can shield my eyes, I realize I'm looking at the backside of a man in a lightweight bathrobe bending over to reach to the ground, and he's not facing towards me. I can also tell he'd still be eligible for the show ring, if you know what I mean. The image is now permanently burned into my retinas.
We went for breakfast and they weren't open yet, so we stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee, and my brother bought Mulligan a couple of Munchkins (donut holes). Very funny. |

Means you need to go the gym locker room more often where such poses are ......while not common....probably more frequent (I assume) and you learn hardware pretty much looks the same across the species. Granted, family family jewels are a bit more unnerving.
You'd have looked harder if you suspected he wasn't eligible for the show ring! |
I've been to a locker room once or twice in my years (though you're rioght, not recently!)
It isn't necessarily the pose that has indellibly seared the image into my psyche, it was the unexepected nature of the show, combined with my momentary and unfortunate intense stare to figure out what I was seeing. |
